Ahead of the ongoing paddy procurement season, Rajnandgaon Collector Jitendra Yadav on Friday held a comprehensive review meeting with Rural Agriculture Extension Officers (RAEOs), patwaris, cooperative society managers, and data entry operators at the Collectorate auditorium. The Collector instructed all concerned officials to accelerate work while ensuring transparency, vigilance, and strict adherence to procurement norms.

Addressing the meeting, Yadav made it clear that only genuine produce of actual farmers must be procured at paddy procurement centres. He stressed that there should be no lapses in the system and no inconvenience to farmers during the sale of their produce. All issues faced by farmers, he said, must be resolved promptly and sensitively.

The Collector directed officials to act fearlessly against kochiyas (agents) and middlemen attempting to illegally dispose of paddy. He also ordered continuous monitoring at inter-state borders to prevent illegal transportation of paddy. Farmers, he said, can share information about such activities over phone, assuring them that their identity will be kept confidential.

Focus on Physical Verification and Stacking
Yadav emphasized careful and alert physical verification at procurement centres. Any change or deviation during verification must be documented through a panchnama and immediately reported to senior अधिकारियों. Proper stacking of paddy was highlighted as a crucial step to ensure accurate physical verification. He also informed that lifting of paddy from procurement centres has already commenced.

He instructed all RAEOs and patwaris to immediately report any suspicious activity or irregularity noticed at procurement centres. Regular field inspections were made mandatory to keep officials informed about the ground situation. Continuous paddy entry, verification, and inspection were underlined as key responsibilities.

During the meeting, Rural Agriculture Extension Officers, patwaris, society managers, and operators were felicitated for outstanding performance in their respective work areas.
