The 77th Republic Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and patriotic spirit across Mohla district, with the main district-level ceremony held at the Mini Stadium. Member of Parliament from Rajnandgaon Lok Sabha constituency, Mr Santosh Pandey, presided over the event as Chief Guest and hoisted the National Flag, followed by the National Anthem and a ceremonial salute by contingents of battalion forces, district police, NCC cadets, and Scout and Guide units.
Marking the solemn occasion, MP Santosh Pandey released white pigeons symbolising peace and tricolour balloons into the sky. He also read out the Chief Minister’s address to the public, conveying the government’s vision and commitment towards development and inclusive growth.

Extending Republic Day greetings to citizens, Mr Pandey said the day holds immense national significance, commemorating the sacrifices of freedom fighters and the invaluable contribution of the Constitution’s architects who shaped India into the world’s largest democracy. He recalled the message of equality given by Baba Guru Ghasidas—“Manakh-Manakh Ek Samaan”—and said the Constitution reflects this spirit by guaranteeing equal rights to every citizen.
Highlighting development initiatives, the MP said Chhattisgarh is among India’s fastest emerging states. He credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership for rapid infrastructure expansion and outlined the government’s focused strategy against Maoist violence, including rehabilitation policies and accelerated development in tribal regions.

Mr Pandey further stated that farmers are being supported through procurement of paddy at Rs 3,100 per quintal up to 21 quintals per acre, while women are being empowered under the Mahtari Vandan Yojana, providing Rs 1,000 per month. He also spoke about the national goal of creating three crore “Lakhpati Didis” and improving healthcare infrastructure for the common people.
Referring to the formation of Chhattisgarh in 2000 under former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Mr Pandey said the state, now in its silver jubilee year, has resolved to become a developed state by 2047, guided by the Anjor Vision Document roadmap.

The ceremony featured an impressive march-past by ITBP, district police, NCC, and Scout & Guide contingents under the leadership of Mr Bhuneshwar Kashyap and Mr Surendra Netam. Schoolchildren captivated the audience with colourful cultural performances, while various departments presented tableaux showcasing government schemes and developmental achievements.
Families of martyrs were honoured on the occasion, and the Chief Guest presented certificates of appreciation to officers and employees for exemplary service.
