The Bharatiya Janata Party has intensified its campaign for the Ghumka Nagar Panchayat elections with plans for two major public meetings featuring senior political leaders and prominent public figures in support of party candidates.

A meeting of the District Mineral Foundation Governing Council was held in Rajnandgaon under the chairmanship of Collector Jitendra Yadav. Discussions focused on the 2025–26 action plan, revised DMF rules, and development priorities for mining-affected villages.

Former councillor Hemant Ostwal has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, demanding an FIR, suspension of responsible PWD officials, and blacklisting of Amar Builders over alleged irregularities in the ₹290-crore Rajnandgaon–Ambagarh Chowki–Mohla-Manpur road project.

Mohla celebrated the 77th Republic Day with grandeur at the Mini Stadium as Rajnandgaon MP Santosh Pandey hoisted the tricolour. The ceremony featured march-past contingents, cultural performances by schoolchildren, departmental tableaux, and the felicitation of officers, employees, and martyrs’ families, reflecting the spirit of patriotism and development.

On the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Good Governance Day was observed at Atal Parisar in Rajnandgaon. Assembly Speaker Dr Raman Singh paid floral tribute to Vajpayee’s statue and remembered his transformative role in strengthening infrastructure, connectivity and democratic governance in India.

In response to the growing global water crisis, Rajnandgaon will witness a grand ‘Jal Yatra’ on June 11, 2025, under the ongoing Water Conservation Mega Campaign. The procession, led by Padma Shri Fulbasan Yadav, will begin at 2:30 PM from Gayatri Mandir and culminate at Gandhi Sabhagrah, where Chhattisgarh Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh and MP Santosh Pandey will address the gathering.
