21st Installment of PM-Kisan Released; Over 1.03 Lakh Farmers in Rajnandgaon Receive ₹20.64 Crore via Aadhaar-Based System

In a major boost to the farming community, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday released the 21st installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) from Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. Through the Aadhaar-based direct benefit transfer system, a total of ₹20.64 crore was credited to 1,03,203 farmers of Rajnandgaon district.

A district-level program was organized at the Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Sargi, where MP Santosh Pandey joined the event virtually. Addressing farmers, he urged them to take maximum advantage of government schemes and work towards increasing agricultural productivity.

District Panchayat Chairperson Kiran Vaishnav and social worker Komal Singh Rajput also encouraged farmers to adopt modern farming techniques for improved yields.

Dr. Gunjan Jha, Senior Scientist and Head of KVK, briefed participants on the activities and ongoing initiatives of the centre.

Push for Crop Diversification

Deputy Director of Agriculture Tikam Singh Thakur informed farmers about departmental schemes and encouraged them to grow pulses and oilseeds during the Rabi season instead of paddy, highlighting the long-term benefits of diversification.

Various departments set up stalls and exhibitions showcasing technologies, equipment, and schemes aimed at supporting farmers. Officials also addressed participants on sector-specific programs and welfare initiatives.

Awareness on Natural and Allied Farming

Farm Manager Ashish Gaurav Shukla discussed natural farming practices and sensitized farmers about sustainable agriculture. Representatives from Horticulture, Lead Bank, Livestock Development, and Fisheries departments—including Mehra, Munish Sharma, Mamata Meshram, and Dr. Vartika Thakur—shared updates and guidance on their respective domains.

The event witnessed the participation of several public representatives, including District Panchayat Vice Chairperson Kiran Sahu, members Jagriti Yadu, Dev Kumari Sahu, Gopal Singh Bhuarya, and Agricultural Standing Committee Chairperson Purnima Sahu. Around 400–500 farmers from various parts of the district attended the program.

The release of the 21st installment further reaffirms the government’s continued commitment to providing direct financial assistance to farmers and promoting sustainable agricultural development.
