Farmers in Rajnandgaon district are experiencing a renewed sense of satisfaction and financial confidence as improved facilities at paddy procurement centres, combined with the state’s Minimum Support Price (MSP) of ₹3,100 per quintal, continue to strengthen agricultural income. Under the Krishak Unnati Yojana, paddy is being procured at a benchmark of 21 quintals per acre, bringing joy to farmers who are enthusiastically arriving at centres to sell their produce.

At the Tumdibod paddy procurement centre, farmer Yadav Ram Verma from Kopeidih village shared his positive experience. Cultivating seven acres of farmland, he said that good rainfall this year led to an excellent harvest. Using the ‘Token Tuhar Hath’ mobile app, he received a token to sell 132 quintals of paddy, and arrived at the centre with confidence and satisfaction.

He praised the facilities at the centre, especially the use of electronic weighing machines, which ensure accurate and transparent measurements, including the weighing of gunny bags. “The improved arrangements have made the entire selling process very convenient,” he said. Verma added that he plans to use the income from this season’s paddy sales to build a new house and further invest in agricultural activities.

Farmers arriving at Tumdibod and other procurement centres also expressed appreciation for the financial assistance provided through the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, under which farmers receive ₹6,000 annually in three instalments. They said that both Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai are working in the best interests of farmers, ensuring fair crop prices and supporting rural livelihoods.

With farmers receiving timely benefits, improved infrastructure, and digital support, the ongoing procurement season has begun on a note of optimism, trust, and gratitude.
