PM Modi addressed the nation on the historic occasion; ‘Vande Mataram’ remains timeless and ever-relevant

On the historic occasion of the 150th anniversary of the national song Vande Mataram, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi addressed the nation today. During the event, district representatives and officials joined via video conferencing, including District Panchayat President Smt. Kiran Vaishnav, former Chairman of Central Cooperative Bank Shri Sachin Baghel, social worker Shri Komal Singh Rajput, Collector Shri Jitendra Yadav, and District Panchayat CEO Smt. Suruchi Singh.
Participants collectively sang Vande Mataram, expressing devotion to the nation, patriotic values, and a sense of duty.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the 150-year journey of Vande Mataram is extraordinary. “The experience of Vande Mataram goes beyond expression. It connects the heart with an unwavering wave of emotion. This celebration will fill crores of Indians with new strength and new inspiration,” he said.
He further emphasized that every line of Vande Mataram, written by Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay in Anand Math, is filled with deep emotion and the dream of a free India. During the freedom struggle, Vande Mataram became the collective voice of the people—a call for independence and unity.
“Vande Mataram is a tribute to our sacred motherland—its rivers, fertile fields, forests, and mountains. It reminds us of our ancient cultural identity and inspires us to reclaim a prosperous and glorious India,” he added, reaffirming that the national song remains timeless and relevant in every era.

District Panchayat President Smt. Kiran Vaishnav said that the nationwide observance of the 150th anniversary is an emotional tribute to countless freedom fighters whose sacrifices blessed our independence. “Vande Mataram is not just a song; it is a symbol of reverence, love, and devotion to our motherland,” she said.
District Panchayat CEO Smt. Suruchi Singh delivered the vote of thanks.
The event was attended by District Panchayat Member and Chairperson Smt. Dev Kumari Sahu, Members Smt. Jagriti Yadu, Smt. Biram Bai Mandavi, along with other public representatives, government officials, and staff.
