District Administration Orders Forfeiture; Vehicles to Be Auctioned as Per Rules

Acting on the police department’s report, Collector and District Magistrate Jitendra Yadav has ordered the forfeiture of two seized vehicles under the provisions of the Chhattisgarh Agricultural Cattle Preservation Act. The decision was taken after the mandatory review period ended and no contrary order was received from the competent court.
The vehicles confiscated include:
- Dost Plus LS (CG 04 NL 6724) belonging to Shabbir Mohammad, resident of Sai Mandir, Rawatpura Phase-2, Raipur.
- Tata Astra Pickup (MH 49 BZ 3937) owned by Abdul Farheen, resident of Plot No. 246, Yashodhara Road, Shiv Shakti Nagar, Nagpur.
According to the administration, upon completion of legal formalities, the forfeited vehicles will be auctioned by a designated committee, and the proceeds will be deposited in the appropriate government treasury head. Should the Sessions Court, Rajnandgaon issue any further directions, subsequent action will be taken strictly in accordance with the court’s orders.

As per available information, both vehicles were found transporting cattle in cruel and unlawful conditions, violating the Chhattisgarh Agricultural Cattle Preservation Act and the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act. The Dost Plus vehicle was carrying two buffaloes, while the Tata Astra pickup was transporting four buffaloes, all without fodder or water, allegedly being taken towards slaughter facilities.
