Members of the Sindhi community submitted a memorandum to Additional Superintendent of Police Rahul Sharma, demanding a First Information Report (FIR) against Amit Baghel, identified as the President of the Johar Chhattisgarh Party, for allegedly making objectionable and disrespectful remarks against the Sindhi community and their revered deity Sant Jhulelal in a media statement in Raipur.
Community representatives Arjundas Panjwani, Brahmanand Bajaj, Rupchand Bhimanani and others stated in the memorandum that referring to Sindhis using derogatory language and linking them with Pakistan is deeply hurtful. They clarified that the Sindhi community was originally a part of undivided India residing in the Sindh region, and their ancestors endured immense suffering during the Partition.

The representatives emphasized that the Sindhi community has never placed linguistic or political demands, but instead serves society through various humanitarian and social initiatives. They said that the remarks made have not only hurt the sentiments of the Sindhi community but also impacted followers of Maharaja Agrasen, Sant Jhulelal, Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay, and other revered figures, leading to widespread resentment.
The delegation appealed to the police to register an FIR and take legal action as per the law. They also cautioned that if immediate action is not taken, the Sindhi community may launch a district-wide agitation.
