Rajnandgaon Municipal Corporation Mayor Madhusudan Yadav was hospitalised late Saturday night after his health suddenly worsened around 8 pm. As a precautionary measure, he was first taken to Rajnandgaon Medical College for initial examination before being referred to Raipur for advanced care.

At the medical college, MD Medicine specialist Dr Prakash Khunte, along with other senior doctors, conducted preliminary assessments. Considering the need for detailed investigations and to avoid any potential risk, doctors advised referral to a higher medical centre.

Subsequently, a green corridor was arranged under the coordination of Collector Jitendra Yadav and Superintendent of Police Ankita Sharma, through which Mayor Yadav was swiftly transported to Ramakrishna Care Hospital, Raipur. Upon arrival, he was admitted to the ICU as a precaution. Doctors noted that his blood pressure was lower than normal, which caused temporary discomfort.

He underwent cardiac evaluations along with other necessary medical tests. After continuous monitoring and treatment through the night, his condition improved significantly. Hospital authorities confirmed that all reports were normal and no serious medical complication was detected.

News of the Mayor’s illness began circulating on social media and WhatsApp around 9 pm, triggering concern across Rajnandgaon. Supporters and residents expressed anxiety and offered prayers for his speedy recovery as the information quickly went viral.

Clarifying the situation later in the night, close associate Bantu Jain (Rajendra Jain) informed the public between 10:30 pm and 11 pm that Mayor Madhusudan Yadav’s condition had stabilised and that he was admitted only due to low blood pressure. He assured that medical assessments were satisfactory.

According to hospital sources on Sunday morning, the Mayor has since been shifted from the ICU to a general ward. Doctors have advised observation for another one or two days as a precaution, after which he is likely to be discharged.

Madhusudan Yadav is currently serving his third term as Mayor of Rajnandgaon. In the past, he has also held positions as Municipal Corporation Chairman, Leader of the Opposition, and Member of Parliament. His widespread popularity and active engagement with public issues contributed to the citywide concern following news of his hospitalisation.

At present, Mayor Yadav’s health condition is fully stable, and he is expected to resume public duties soon after recovery.
