Taking a firm stand against acts that threaten public peace and law and order, Surgi Police Outpost in Rajnandgaon has initiated strict preventive action against a youth accused of repeatedly disturbing domestic harmony and creating the potential for wider unrest in the area.

The action was carried out under the direction of Superintendent of Police Ms Ankita Sharma (IPS), guidance of Additional Superintendent of Police Mr Pushpendra Nayak, and supervision of City Superintendent of Police Ms Vaishali Jain (IPS), as part of an ongoing campaign to maintain peace and control crime in the region.

According to police sources, Surgi Police received information from village Bharregaon that a youth was regularly returning home in an intoxicated state and engaging in frequent disputes and altercations with his family members. The complainant reported that his younger brother, Tikeshwar Banjare, was addicted to alcohol and habitually disrupting the peace of the household.

Acting promptly on the information, police reached the spot and verified the situation. During questioning, it was found that the accused was under the influence of alcohol, arguing with family members and expressing anger over the filing of a police complaint. The situation had escalated to a point where there was a strong possibility of breach of peace and commission of a cognisable offence in the area.
