Man arrested for creating disturbance at MGNREGA worksite in Buchibharada village, sent to judicial custody

In a firm move to maintain law and order, Rajnandgaon Police took swift action against an anti-social element who attempted to disrupt peace in the Surgi outpost area. The accused, identified as Rameshwar Sahu, was arrested for creating a disturbance at a rural employment worksite and was subsequently sent to jail by court orders.
According to police sources, the action was carried out under the direction of Superintendent of Police Ankita Sharma (IPS), with guidance from Additional Superintendent of Police Kirtan Rathore and supervision of City Superintendent of Police Vaishali Jain (IPS). The district police have been consistently running a campaign against anti-social elements to ensure peace and security.
The incident took place in Buchibharada village, where police received information that a man was creating unnecessary trouble at an MGNREGA worksite. He was reportedly arguing with workers and obstructing ongoing work without any valid reason.
Acting promptly on the information, a team from Surgi police outpost reached the spot and initiated an inquiry. During questioning, it was found that the accused was deliberately disturbing workers and became aggressive when confronted by villagers.

Considering the seriousness of the situation, the police immediately arrested the accused under Section 170 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS). Additionally, proceedings under Sections 126 and 135(3) of the BNSS were initiated, and the accused was presented before the Executive Magistrate in Rajnandgaon.
Following court orders, a jail warrant was issued, and the accused was sent to the district jail.
Police officials reiterated their commitment to maintaining peace and warned that strict legal action would be taken against anyone attempting to disturb law and order in the area. They emphasized that such drives against anti-social activities will continue in the future.
