Agriculture Experts Advise Farmers on Reduced Chemical Fertilizer Use, Soil Health, and Government Subsidies

A one-day PM Pranam Kisan Seminar was organized at the Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Surgi, jointly by the Agriculture Department, Indian Potash Limited, and the KVK Rajnandgaon. The seminar aimed to promote organic and natural farming, reduce excessive use of chemical fertilizers, protect soil health, and inform farmers about government subsidies on fertilizers.

Deputy Director of Agriculture Tikam Singh Thakur guided farmers on paddy and Rabi crop preparation and highlighted various agriculture department schemes to maximize benefits for farmers. Senior scientist and head of KVK, Dr. Gunjan Jha, explained the harmful effects of chemical fertilizers and preventive measures, while scientist Anjali Ghritlahre discussed nutrient deficiencies in crops, remedies, and the advantages of natural and organic farming.
Field Manager Ashish Gaurav Shukla provided suggestions on the balanced use of fertilizers. Senior regional officer of Indian Potash Limited, O.P. Giri, shared detailed information about subsidies on chemical fertilizers. The seminar was attended by officials including Manish Nourang (IP Limited), S.L. Deshlahre (Sub-Divisional Agriculture Officer), Ramshila Gaurkar (Agriculture Development Officer), Dr. Nutan Ramteke, Manish Kumar Singh, and Dr. Yogendra Srivas along with a large number of local farmers.

The seminar successfully encouraged farmers to adopt eco-friendly practices, improve soil health, and reduce dependency on chemical fertilizers while availing government support.
