Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated 130 PM Shri Schools across Chhattisgarh as part of the third and fourth phases of the initiative. The grand event was held in Mohbha, Bilaspur, and was connected virtually to various districts, including Rajnandgaon, where four newly established PM Shri Schools were also inaugurated.

Virtual Participation from Rajnandgaon

A special event was organized at PM Shri Sarveshwardas Municipal Corporation Excellence School in Rajnandgaon. Teachers and students from all four newly launched schools participated via video conferencing. The event featured several esteemed guests:

  • Chief Guest: School Development Committee Chairman Kamlesh Suryavanshi
  • Presiding Officer: District Education Officer Pravas Singh Baghel
  • Special Guests:
    • Assistant Director Aditya Khare
    • PM Shri Scheme Assistant Nodal Officer Adarsh Wasnik
    • Block Education Officer Dhaniram Devangan
    • School faculty and students

Highlights of the Inauguration Ceremony

  • The event commenced with the lighting of the lamp and a floral tribute to Goddess Saraswati.
  • Kamlesh Suryavanshi extended his best wishes to the teachers and students on the occasion of the school’s inauguration.
  • District Education Officer Pravas Singh Baghel provided an in-depth overview of the PM Shri Scheme and its objectives.
  • Assistant Nodal Officer Adarsh Wasnik emphasized the significance of the scheme in enhancing quality education.
  • Attendees also joined Prime Minister Modi’s live address from Bilaspur, celebrating the launch of PM Shri Schools across the state.
  • The event was hosted by lecturers Manoj Sonkalihari and Akash Tripathi.
  • Lecturer Aastha Vaishnav delivered the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all guests and participants.

It is noteworthy that the renowned Sarveshwardas Higher Secondary School in Rajnandgaon is set to undergo a name change for the third time. This institution, a well-known and prestigious higher secondary school in the city, was rebranded as Atmanand School by the Bhupesh Baghel government with only a fresh coat of paint and the deputation of a few English medium staff members. Now, under the governance of the double-engine government, it has been renamed as PM Shri School.

Given the dedicated efforts of District Education Officer Pravas Baghel, Assistant Director Aditya Khare, and Jan Bhagidari Committee President Golu Suryavanshi in making this transition successful, it appears that if everything continues to progress smoothly, this historic school may once again regain its former prestige.
