The Women and Child Development Department has introduced a new toll-free helpline number 1515 to address complaints and assist beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY). The new helpline aims to ensure smooth grievance redressal and facilitate eligible pregnant and lactating women in availing scheme benefits without difficulty.

The new helpline will function with the same support features as the previously issued number 14408, which it now replaces. Extensive publicity is being carried out to ensure that the new number reaches all eligible beneficiaries, enabling more effective and timely resolution of queries and complaints.

PMMVY is a flagship initiative of the Government of India aimed at improving the health and nutrition of pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers, while also compensating for wage loss during maternity period through financial assistance.

For a second childbirth, if the child is a girl, a one-time financial benefit of ₹6,000 is provided.

To receive benefits, the beneficiary must have her bank account linked with Aadhaar, and ensure registration at the Anganwadi Centre along with required documents such as mobile number, bank account details, mother-child protection card, Aadhaar card, and supporting identity documents (Ration Card, Ayushman Card, e-Shram Card or MGNREGA Job Card). Application under the scheme can be made within 570 days from the Last Menstrual Period (LMP) or within 270 days after childbirth.

Eligible women who have not yet availed the scheme benefits may contact their nearest Anganwadi Centre or apply through the official mobile app at:
