Commissioner Atul Vishwakarma directs timely completion of drain construction, strict sanitation monitoring, and penalties for violations

Rajnandgaon Municipal Corporation Commissioner Shri Atul Vishwakarma on Wednesday conducted an on-ground inspection of sanitation arrangements and ongoing construction works in Prabhat Nagar and Rajiv Nagar, with the objective of improving public health services and ensuring timely completion of infrastructure projects.
During the early morning inspection, the Commissioner reviewed daily cleanliness activities and instructed the sanitation staff to ensure punctual attendance and regular garbage collection. He emphasized strict enforcement against the use of plastic sheets, dumping of waste in drains or near residential areas, and spreading of construction debris on roads, directing officials to impose penalties on violators.

At the Prabhat Nagar Solid Liquid Resource Management (SLRM) Centre, Commissioner Vishwakarma reviewed waste segregation and disposal processes. He instructed the centre in-charge to maintain proper cleanliness and ensure effective segregation of waste at the source.
In Rajiv Nagar, the Commissioner inspected the local drain and directed immediate cleaning operations. He also instructed officials to conduct public awareness campaigns, urging residents not to dump garbage into drains. Additionally, he reviewed the condition of the public Sulabh toilet in the area and directed the operator to maintain proper hygiene and ensure adequate water supply at all times.

As part of the construction review, the Commissioner inspected the ongoing drain construction work in Prabhat Nagar. He instructed technical officers to accelerate the pace of work and ensure completion within the stipulated timeframe to prevent waterlogging during the monsoon season. Stressing the importance of quality, he directed that proper gradient be maintained in the drain to allow smooth water flow.
Commissioner Vishwakarma further instructed officials to conduct daily monitoring of the construction work to ensure timely completion with prescribed quality standards.
