The Rajnandgaon Municipal Corporation has intensified sanitation, drainage cleaning, road repairs, plantation protection and beautification works across the city ahead of the monsoon season. Civic authorities have also restored water supply affected by a technical fault and launched initiatives to address stray dog control, encroachments and urban cleanliness.

The Chhattisgarh Government’s flagship water conservation initiative, “Mor Gaon, Mor Taria,” is gaining momentum in Bilaspur district, where new pond construction projects are enhancing water security, generating local employment and laying the foundation for sustainable rural development.

Municipal Commissioner Atul Vishwakarma inspected sanitation arrangements and drain construction works in Prabhat Nagar and Rajiv Nagar, directing officials to enforce cleanliness norms, impose penalties on violations, and complete drainage projects within the deadline to prevent monsoon waterlogging.

During the weekly time-limit meeting held at the Rajnandgaon Collectorate, Collector Dr. Sarveshwar Narendra Bhure announced that an intensive plantation campaign will be conducted this year under the theme "One Tree in Mother’s Name". He also reviewed departmental readiness for upcoming monsoon initiatives, the International Yoga Day celebrations, and tribal welfare camps under the Dhartii Aaba Jan Bhagidari Abhiyan.

Despite being the constituency of former Chief Minister and current Speaker Dr. Raman Singh, road conditions in several parts of Rajnandgaon remain severely neglected. The Raveli–Torankatta road has turned into a nightmare for commuters due to large, dangerous potholes. Other key routes like Singhola–Bhothipar Khurd and Usribod–Shivnath River access roads are in a similarly dilapidated state, prompting growing anger among locals and repeated demands for reconstruction.
