The meeting was attended by Dongargarh MLA Harshita Baghel, Zila Panchayat President Kiran Vaishnav, Collector Jitendra Yadav, Superintendent of Police Ankita Sharma, Zila Panchayat CEO Durga Prasad Adhikari, committee members and officials from various departments.

MP Santosh Pandey said the Disha Committee meeting serves as an important platform for coordination between elected representatives and government officials. Various important issues related to government schemes and development works were discussed during the meeting.

He directed officials to provide additional information and data sought on various issues to committee members within the stipulated time. He also instructed departments to ensure priority-based resolution of matters raised by public representatives.

The MP stressed the need to ensure that young people receive greater benefits from government schemes and called for necessary initiatives related to employment and skill development.

While reviewing issues concerning roads passing through forest areas, he directed the concerned departments to coordinate and explore practical solutions. He noted that in the absence of adequate road connectivity, rural residents are required to travel long distances, and directed that action be taken towards road construction and repair through necessary permissions and alternative means.

He said coordination and active participation between public representatives and officials would help accelerate development works in the district.

Review of PM Matru Vandana, Sukanya Samriddhi and AgriStack

Collector Jitendra Yadav informed the meeting that pregnant women identified for the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana are also being registered with the Labour Department, subject to eligibility, so that they can avail benefits under both schemes.

According to the information presented at the meeting, 4,194 women are registered under the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana in the district. The Collector also informed that 971 accounts have been opened under the Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana.

For persons with disabilities, separate cards are being prepared and opportunities are being provided to work as mates, enabling them to access employment opportunities within their villages.

The Collector further informed that forest rights title holders and institutional farmers who were deprived of paddy procurement last year have been identified. Of the 379 identified farmers, 333 have already been registered on the AgriStack portal, while registration of the remaining farmers will be completed soon.

Officials were directed to conduct special verification of farmers’ landholdings and records during Girdawari and ensure that problems related to paddy procurement are resolved within the stipulated time.

The meeting also reviewed the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. Information was provided regarding efforts to ensure eligible farmers receive the scheme’s benefits and to examine pending cases on a reason-wise basis for resolution.

Instructions were also issued to ensure early completion of the remaining houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin.

Health Schemes and Free Dialysis Services Reviewed

The Collector informed the committee that regular monitoring is being carried out for the registration of pregnant women and institutional deliveries in the district. Free ultrasound facilities are being provided to high-risk pregnant women as required.

Under the Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan, private-sector gynaecologists are providing services at health centres. The recruitment process for various posts under the National Health Mission has also been completed.

A special campaign is being conducted to connect remaining eligible beneficiaries with the Ayushman and Ayushman Vay Vandana Yojana.

To make the district TB-free, campaigns are being conducted in gram panchayats. Support from private organisations and CSR initiatives is also being mobilised to provide nutritional assistance to TB patients.

Under the Pradhan Mantri National Dialysis Programme, more than 2,000 free dialysis sessions have already been conducted at the Medical College during the current financial year. Efforts will be made to expand dialysis services to the block level in the coming period.
