High spirits and devotional chants fill Rajnandgaon railway station as pilgrims from Durg and Bastar divisions depart for Ayodhya

A wave of devotion and enthusiasm swept through the Rajnandgaon railway station on Wednesday as Member of Parliament Santosh Pandey ceremonially flagged off a special pilgrimage train carrying 665 devotees to Ayodhya under the state government’s Shri Ramlala Darshan Ayodhya Dham Yojana.

Pilgrims from 13 districts across Durg and Bastar divisions boarded the train amidst a spiritually uplifting environment filled with chants of “Jai Shri Ram” and the rhythmic sound of dhol-manjira. Families and local residents gathered in large numbers to bid farewell to the travellers embarking on the revered journey to seek blessings of Lord Shri Ram.

MP Santosh Pandey expressed gratitude to the state government, stating that facilitating free pilgrimage for devotees from even the remotest parts of the state reflects the sensitivity and commitment of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai. He noted that this was the fourth consecutive special train dispatched from Rajnandgaon under the flagship pilgrimage scheme.
He also interacted with the pilgrims, extending his best wishes for a peaceful and fulfilling spiritual journey.

The event witnessed the presence of several prominent public representatives and officials, including Mayor Madhusudan Yadav, District Panchayat Chairperson Kiran Vaishnav, Chhattisgarh Tourism Board Chairman Neelu Sharma, District Panchayat Vice Chairperson Kiran Sahu, and senior administrative officials such as Collector Jitendra Yadav, Additional Collector Premprakash Sharma, SDM Gautam Patil, and others.
