Cluster-level training camp promotes rainwater conservation and soak pit construction in rural homes

Aiming to enhance water sustainability in rural areas, a cluster-level training camp on rainwater harvesting and conservation was held in Gendatola village under the Moor Gaon, Moor Pani Mahabhiyan in Chhuriya development block.

The training camp was attended by Zila Panchayat President Smt. Kiran Vaishnav as the chief guest. Addressing the gathering, she emphasized, “Water is life, and conserving rainwater is vital for future generations.” She urged villagers to construct soak pits in their homes to store rainwater efficiently and make rural households water-resilient.

The session included open discussions between public representatives and villagers on simple, practical ways to conserve rainwater and integrate traditional knowledge with technical support.

As part of the “One Tree in Mother’s Name” campaign, saplings were planted during the event to encourage environmental responsibility.

The training witnessed the presence of District Panchayat Member Smt. Birm Mandavi, Janpad Panchayat Chairperson Smt. Hemeen Vishnu Sahu, social worker Mr. Manish Tripathi, Mr. Kumar Sai Sahu, Sarpanch of Gendatola Smt. Usha Kamal Gupta, SDO Mr. G.P. Lariya, and MNREGA Program Officer Mr. Mohit Kumar Padoti.
