On the occasion of World Environment Day, the Indian Dental Association (IDA), Rajnandgaon branch conducted a special tree plantation drive at Thakur Pyarelal School to promote ecological awareness and environmental responsibility.
The event was graced by Mayor Madhusudan Yadav as the chief guest, accompanied by Ward Councillor Santosh Pille and school principal Bhushan Sav. The initiative was led by IDA President Dr. Manupreet Kaur and Secretary Dr. Nupur Sarkar.
Addressing the gathering after planting saplings, Mayor Yadav emphasized the importance of contributing to the nationwide afforestation mission promoted by both the central and state governments. He urged citizens to not only plant trees but also ensure their protection and nurturing for a sustainable future.
The IDA President briefed the mayor about the organization’s commitment to fostering public participation in building a cleaner, greener, and healthier society. The campaign’s theme — “Dental Way to Environment” — cleverly connected dental hygiene with environmental care, encouraging the public to treat nature with the same attentiveness and discipline as they do their personal health.

The event saw active involvement from IDA members including Dr. Sharda Sahu, Dr. Anushka Devghare, Dr. Ankur Preethyani, Dr. Reena Patila, Dr. Arihant, Dr. Akash Katiyara, Dr. Akanksha Soni, and several local residents. Media coordination was supported by Dr. Jay Tank.
The program concluded with attendees pledging to protect the environment and reinforcing the intertwined values of cleanliness, greenery, and health.
