Mayor Shri Madhusudan Yadav on Tuesday held a direct interaction with residents of Ward No. 19, Police Line 18 Acre area, to understand and address their civic issues, with special focus on the persistent drinking water problem. He was accompanied by former Leader of Opposition Shri Kishun Yadu, Water Works In-charge Member Shri Sunil Sahu, and Ward Councillor Smt. Rekha Abhay Parakh.
During the interaction, residents highlighted that inadequate water supply remains the most serious concern in the colony. They informed the Mayor that although two overhead water tanks have been constructed in the area, one of them is small and fails to meet the water demand of the growing population, resulting in irregular and insufficient supply.
Taking the issue seriously, Mayor Yadav held discussions with the officials of the Water Works Department. Executive Engineer Shri Pranay Meshram informed that water is supplied to both tanks by the Municipal Corporation and distributed to households through sump wells.

The Mayor directed officials to interconnect both sump well tanks so that overflow water from the larger tank can be diverted to the smaller one, thereby increasing overall supply and providing relief to residents. He also instructed officials to initiate the process for borewell drilling in the area, which would help fill the tanks through pumps and further improve water availability.
Emphasizing preparedness ahead of the summer season, Mayor Yadav instructed officials to ensure uninterrupted and adequate drinking water supply in all affected areas before the onset of peak summer. He also reviewed the ongoing water tank cleaning work in the locality.
During the inspection, Sub-Engineer Shri Anup Pandey, Shri Tilak Raj Dhruv, fitter Shri Somnath, and a large number of residents of the Police Line 18 Acre area were present.
