Budget Recommendations and Key Approvals in Municipal Council Meeting

Rajnandgaon – The first meeting of the Mayor’s Council, chaired by Mayor Madhusudan Yadav, was held in the Municipal Corporation office. During the meeting, the income-expenditure estimate for 2025-26 was reviewed and forwarded for approval to the General Assembly. Additionally, the revised budget for the 2024-25 financial year was also sent for approval along with key recommendations.

The meeting also approved various tenders for different municipal departments and discussed other critical matters. Before the meeting commenced, Municipal Commissioner Atul Vishwakarma, Deputy Commissioner Mobin Ali, Executive Engineer U.K. Ramteke, and other department officials welcomed Mayor Yadav, Corporation Chairman Topendra Singh Paras Verma, and all council members with floral bouquets.

Discussion on Budget and Development Plans

Mayor Madhusudan Yadav emphasized the importance of the 2025-26 budget, stating that the approved government funds and budget allocations for Rajnandgaon’s development were included in the proposal. He assured that the budget aligns with public interests and community needs and mentioned that the budget presentation will take place in the General Assembly after Navratri in April.

Approval for Social Welfare Schemes and Tenders

Apart from the budget, the council approved:

  • Financial aid for eligible beneficiaries under the National Family Assistance Scheme.
  • Recommendations for social security pension applications received through Public Service Centers.
  • Approval of the highest bid for the livestock market auction.
  • Annual tender invitations for municipal projects.
  • Tender invitation for the disposal of legacy waste (Phase-2) at Navagaon Trenching Ground following government directives.

Mayor’s Directives to Officials

Mayor Yadav instructed officials to fulfill their responsibilities diligently, emphasizing that the Municipal Corporation is directly connected to public welfare. He directed that:

  • Public grievances should be prioritized and resolved efficiently.
  • Officials must coordinate with ward councilors and keep them informed about ongoing projects.
  • Officers and employees should expedite cases related to promotions, upgrades, and compassionate appointments.
