Mayor Madhusudan Yadav has termed the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral roll—conducted by the Election Commission of India—as a campaign of national significance. Appealing for maximum public participation, the Mayor visited the voter assistance camp set up at Motipur Ward No. 08 on Saturday morning, arriving without any formal protocol.

At the camp, he directly interacted with citizens, listened to their difficulties, and ensured on-the-spot redressal of issues related to voter form submissions.

Mayor Personally Assisted Voters, Reviewed Forms and Procedures

Several voters had been facing challenges in filling the Voter Enumeration Sheet (Form for Intensive Revision). During his visit, the Mayor:

  • Spoke directly with citizens from various booth areas
  • Examined the issues they faced while filling the forms
  • Reviewed progress with BLOs and helpdesk assistants
  • Checked the status of form submission, distribution, and digitisation

He stated,
“This is not merely a formality. It is a national task to keep India’s democratic structure clean and transparent.”

Special Support for Senior Citizens, Women, and the Labour Community

Mayor Yadav and his team extended personalised assistance to:

  • Senior citizens
  • Labourers with limited literacy
  • Women voters
  • First-time voters

Several public representatives and workers also participated actively, including BJP City North Mandal Vice President Madan (Montu) Yadav, Councillor Manohar Yadav, Councillor Kamlesh Bandhe, Booth President Deepak Sahu, Jaykishan Janghel, Heera Verma, and Jhalak Sahu.

Why the SIR Campaign Matters — Mayor Explains Its Purpose

The Mayor underscored the importance of the nationwide voter list revision, highlighting that the process helps:

  • Remove names of deceased persons
  • Delete entries of permanently relocated individuals
  • Correct duplicate registrations
  • Identify fraudulent voter entries
  • Maintain a complete, accurate, and transparent electoral roll

He added,
“A clean and trustworthy voter list is essential for strengthening the roots of democracy. It can be achieved only through active participation of citizens.”

Mayor’s Appeal: “Fill the Forms Early, Strengthen Democracy”

Concluding his visit, the Mayor appealed to all residents:
“Fill the SIR enumeration form at the earliest. Do not treat this as just another government procedure. Strengthening the voter list—the backbone of our democracy—is a national responsibility.”
