This revered trail traces the exile journey of Lord Rama, Sita, and Lakshmana as described in the Ramayana, passing through key sites across the state including Satna, Panna, Katni, Amarkantak, Shahdol, and Umaria.
The project, covering 23 major religious destinations in its Madhya Pradesh segment, aims to develop these locations into world-class pilgrimage centers, drawing inspiration from the transformative development of Ayodhya.On February 8, 2026, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav personally led a momentous event at Sitamadhi Dham in Gandhiya village, Jaisinghnagar tehsil of Shahdol district.
He unveiled the grand statue of Mata Shabari, paying humble tributes at her feet in a ceremony steeped in devotion. This site holds special significance as it lies along the Ram Van Gaman Path, commemorating the legendary encounter where the devoted tribal woman Shabari offered Lord Rama berries tasted with love, symbolizing pure bhakti.The occasion went beyond symbolism, as the Chief Minister inaugurated and laid foundation stones for multiple development projects exceeding ₹747 crore.
