“Guest Lecture on Anthropology at Digvijay College

Rajnandgaon (BTI)– Digvijay College, renowned for higher education in Chhattisgarh, regularly hosts intellectual and important seminars throughout the year. These events keep students updated on various subjects and developments in their respective fields.

On February 12 and 13, 2025, the Department of Anthropology at Government Digvijay College organized a guest lecture under the guidance of Principal Dr. Suchitra Gupta and the supervision of Dr. Anjali Mohan Kodipi, Head of the Anthropology Department. The keynote speaker for the event was Ms. Deepa Sharma, Assistant Professor at Government J. Yoganandam Chhattisgarh College, Raipur.

Day 1: Career Opportunities in Anthropology
On the first day, February 12, 2025, Ms. Sharma delivered a lecture on “Career Opportunities in Anthropology.” She provided valuable insights into competitive exam preparation, including effective study techniques, the use of books and online resources, and note-making strategies. She emphasized the importance of setting clear goals before exams to avoid confusion and stay focused.

Day 2: Online Learning Platforms – SWAYAM & MOOCs
On February 13, 2025, the lecture focused on “SWAYAM and MOOCs Platforms for Online Courses.” Ms. Sharma introduced students to various online courses available under the National Education Policy (NEP). She highlighted how platforms like SWAYAM and MOOCs offer a wide range of courses, some of which are free or available at minimal cost. This session was particularly engaging for students, as they actively participated and asked questions related to different online courses.

The insightful sessions were well-received by students and faculty members. The Department of Anthropology, along with students, actively participated in making the event a success.
