In a significant breakthrough, police in Dongargaon have solved a burglary case involving theft worth nearly ₹4 lakh, arresting four accused, including a woman, and recovering all stolen jewellery.

According to police officials, the case dates back to January 3, 2026, when complainant Praveen Kumar Singh lodged a report stating that unidentified thieves had broken into his locked house in Rajiv Nagar. The accused reportedly broke open the almirah and locker, stealing gold ornaments including bangles, a mangalsutra, and earrings.

Acting on the complaint, police registered a case and initiated a detailed investigation. Under the direction of Superintendent of Police Ankita Sharma, and guidance of Additional SP Kirtan Rathore and City SP Manjulata Baj, a special team was constituted.

The investigation was led by Station House Officer and trainee IPS officer Aditya Kumar. Police carried out spot inspections, questioned locals, analyzed CCTV footage, and activated informants to track down the culprits.

During the probe, suspects Namit Nirmalkar and Rahul Malekar were detained and interrogated. Both confessed to the crime, revealing that they had sold the stolen jewellery to Tulika Raykar and Ashish Raykar.

Police confirmed that 100% of the stolen jewellery has been recovered. During questioning, the accused admitted that they used to systematically target locked houses and carry out thefts in a planned manner. A portion of the stolen money was reportedly spent on food and gambling.

The operation was carried out by the Dongargaon police team, including Inspector Ashirwad Rahatgaonkar and other personnel, under the leadership of trainee IPS officer Aditya Kumar.
