Guest Lecture on Mental Health Awareness organize at Digvijay College, Rajnandgaon

Experts Emphasize Early Identification and Understanding of Psychological Issues Among Students

A significant guest lecture focusing on mental health awareness was organized at Government Digvijay Autonomous Postgraduate College under the joint aegis of the Departments of Sociology and Social Work. The lecture was centered on the theme “Primary Physical and Mental Health Problems,” highlighting the growing importance of mental well-being in today’s society.

The program was conducted under the guidance of Principal Dr. Suchitra Gupta, along with Head of the Sociology Department Dr. A. K. Mandavi and Head of the Social Work Department Lalita Sahu.

The session commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Mandavi, who felicitated the keynote speaker, psychologist and counselor Dr. Sejal. He emphasized the importance of mental health awareness among students and the need for timely understanding of psychological challenges.

Addressing the gathering, Lalita Sahu highlighted the increasing relevance of mental health issues in contemporary times and stressed that students must develop a clear understanding of such concerns to manage them effectively.

In her keynote lecture, Dr. Sejal elaborated on the rising prevalence of both mental and physical health issues in modern society. She discussed various symptoms, underlying causes, and practical solutions, encouraging students to recognize early warning signs and seek timely help. The session also included an interactive segment where students shared their concerns and received guidance.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by guest lecturer Chitransha Rathore.

Faculty members including Dr. Priyanka Lohia, Tarani Sahu, and Shalini Soni, along with students from the Sociology and Social Work departments, were present in large numbers.

Known for its academic excellence and expansive campus, the college continues to organize such awareness programs, contributing significantly to the holistic development of students.
