Collector Jitendra Yadav has suspended former Patwari Vinod Kumar Meshram with immediate effect after serious irregularities were detected in the revenue records of Khasra No. 368 in Pendri village of Rajnandgaon development block. The Collector has also ordered the initiation of a departmental inquiry against the suspended official.
According to official information, the Sub-Divisional Officer (Revenue), Rajnandgaon, reported that former Patwari Vinod Kumar Meshram and the then Revenue Inspector Lekhram Sahu (now deceased) had recorded a land area in the rights register that exceeded the actual extent of the property. As a result, an additional portion of land was shown as remaining after the land acquisition process.
Based on these revenue records, a land acquisition case was subsequently placed before the then Tehsildar for further proceedings.

The report further stated that the balance land shown under the said khasra number was later sold by the original landowner, Narayan Lal, son of Hiralal. Following multiple subsequent transfers, the land is presently recorded in the name of another individual in the current revenue records.
The inquiry found that former Patwari Vinod Kumar Meshram had displayed serious negligence in the discharge of his official duties by entering land measurements exceeding those recorded in the original rights register. This resulted in an inflated balance of land being reflected in official records, forming the basis for subsequent revenue proceedings.
Considering the gravity of the matter and the proposed disciplinary action, the Collector has placed Vinod Kumar Meshram under suspension with immediate effect under Rule 9(1)(a) of the Chhattisgarh Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 1966.
The district administration has also directed that a detailed departmental inquiry be instituted to examine the matter comprehensively.
