The first-phase training for the upcoming Census 2027 (House Listing) was organized in Rajnandgaon to ensure the smooth execution of the nationwide enumeration exercise. The session was held in the presence of District Panchayat CEO Suruchi Singh, who provided detailed guidance on procedures, responsibilities, and timelines to officials and employees involved in the census process.

Addressing the participants, Singh explained that Census 2027 would be conducted in two phases. The first phase will focus on house listing, involving the enumeration of every structure, while the second phase will involve population enumeration, where demographic details of every individual will be collected. She highlighted that the entire census operation would be carried out digitally through a dedicated mobile application, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and transparency.

The CEO noted that the census plays a crucial role in presenting the real socio-economic picture of both the nation and the district, forming the foundation for development planning and policy formulation. She stressed that the responsibility is as significant as election-related duties and should be performed with seriousness, dedication, and accountability.

Singh further informed officials that the census process is strictly time-bound and must be completed within the prescribed schedule. As per the directives of the Government of India, no extensions will be granted. She also reassured that all census data remains completely confidential and that personal information collected from citizens is not used individually but only in aggregated statistical form for policy and planning purposes.

Officials were instructed to create awareness among citizens to provide accurate and truthful information, preventing misinformation and ensuring reliable data collection.

During the training, master trainers elaborated on the roles of census functionaries, legal provisions, manpower deployment, publicity strategies, appointment of supervisors and enumerators, operational procedures, data ethics, confidentiality, and security protocols. Participants were also trained on resolving technical issues related to mobile and web applications, timelines, and portal usage. Demonstrations were conducted on self-enumeration processes and the roles of respondents, enumerators, and supervisors.

The programme was attended by senior district officials, including Additional Collectors, SDMs, Tehsildars, CMOs, and Naib Tehsildars, along with other administrative personnel.
