The state government’s Krishak Unnati Yojana continues to strengthen the financial backbone of farmers, with beneficiaries expressing visible satisfaction over the timely transfer of differential payments above the Minimum Support Price (MSP).

On Friday, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai transferred the additional incentive amount to paddy-selling farmers under the scheme. The funds were credited directly into beneficiaries’ bank accounts through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), reinforcing transparency and efficiency in disbursement.

Among the beneficiaries was Jashwant Sahu, a farmer from Mokhla village in Rajnandgaon block, who attended the district-level input assistance distribution programme at Gandhi Sabhagrah in Rajnandgaon. Overwhelmed with happiness, Sahu displayed the SMS notification on his mobile phone confirming that ₹1,92,184 had been credited directly to his account as the one-time differential payment.

Speaking on the occasion, Sahu said the financial assistance has provided him with much-needed economic stability. “This support has given me confidence and strength. I plan to invest the amount in purchasing additional agricultural land to expand my farming activities and increase future income,” he stated.

Sahu informed that he had sold 264 quintals of paddy at the procurement centre at the support price during the current season. He appreciated the facilities made available at cooperative societies and procurement centres, stating that farmers are now receiving fair value for their produce.

Highlighting the broader impact of the scheme, he said that the Krishak Unnati Yojana, along with MSP procurement, has significantly improved farmers’ economic prospects. “Farmers are finally getting better returns for their hard work. The scheme is changing our destiny,” he remarked.

In addition to paddy cultivation, Sahu has adopted crop diversification by cultivating wheat, mustard and lentils, enabling him to generate supplementary income. He believes that such diversification, supported by stable government policies, will ensure long-term sustainability for farming households.

Recalling last year’s assistance under the scheme, Sahu shared that he had utilized the previous installment to meet family responsibilities, including expenses related to his children’s marriage. “It was a major support during an important phase of our lives,” he said.

Expressing gratitude, he added that receiving the lump-sum amount ahead of the Holi festival has doubled the joy of the occasion for his family. “The festival feels more special this year because of this timely assistance,” Sahu said.

Officials noted that the Krishak Unnati Yojana is emerging as a key initiative in enhancing rural prosperity by ensuring farmers receive additional financial support beyond the MSP. By directly transferring funds into bank accounts, the government aims to improve living standards and provide farmers with the means to invest in agriculture as well as fulfill household needs.
