Excise Crackdown 6.3 Litres of Illicit Liquor, Bike Seized

Maharashtra-made country liquor seized during transport on a two-wheeler; one arrested in anti-liquor operation

Acting on the instructions of District Collector and District Magistrate Dr. Sarveshwar Narendra Bhure, the Excise Department of Rajnandgaon has intensified its drive against illegal liquor sellers, transporters, and public alcohol consumption.

As part of this operation, In-Charge Assistant Commissioner Mr. G.P.S. Darde informed that a total of 6.300 bulk litres of Maharashtra-made country liquor branded as “Santri” was seized along with a two-wheeler (Hero Splendor Plus, Registration No. CG-08-AB-2918).

The liquor was being illegally transported on the Mohgaon to Aamgaon road under Chhuriya police station limits, and was found in possession of Rajesh Mugankar. The suspect was caught red-handed with 70 units of 90 ml liquor bottles and has been arrested under relevant sections of the Excise Act.

The team responsible for the action included Excise Sub Inspector of Chichola Circle Mr. Rajkumar Kurre, Chief Constables Mr. Nizam Shah, Mr. Anil Sinha, and Mr. Bhojnarayan Uike.

Authorities confirmed that routine inspections of hotels, roadside eateries (dhabas), and licensed liquor shops are being conducted to prevent illegal liquor sales. All Excise Circle Officers have been instructed to carry out strict checks and take legal action wherever necessary.
