Continuous Action Against Illegal Mineral Transportation in Rajnandgaon

Mining Department conducts surprise inspections; multiple vehicles seized for illegal sand transport

Acting on the directions of Rajnandgaon Collector Jitendra Yadav, the District Mining Department has intensified action against illegal mining and transportation of minerals across the district. Authorities stated that strict enforcement measures are being undertaken to curb unauthorized extraction and movement of mineral resources.


Surprise Inspection Across Tehsil Areas

According to the Mining Officer, departmental teams carried out surprise inspections in various locations under Rajnandgaon tehsil. During the inspection drive, several cases of illegal sand transportation were detected and action was taken against the offenders.

A Hyva vehicle (CG 08 AT 5889) owned by Rajnandgaon resident Arun Chopra and driven by Deepak Soni of Raipur was found transporting sand illegally. Similarly, another Hyva vehicle (CG 08 BC 6894) owned by Pappu Sharma of village Gaindatola and driven by Neeraj Netam of village Joshilmati was intercepted for illegal transport. Both vehicles were seized and handed over to Surgi Police Station.


Multiple Vehicles Seized

In another action, a Hyva vehicle (CG 08 AX 5765) owned by Ravi Kapoor of Rajnandgaon and driven by Nitesh Sahu of village Charbhatha was caught transporting sand without authorization.

Likewise, a Hyva vehicle (CG 08 BD 7487) owned by Amit Haryano of Rajnandgaon and driven by Toran Vishwakarma of village Belodi, Balod district, was also found involved in illegal sand transportation. These vehicles were seized and handed over to Police Line Rajnandgaon for further legal proceedings.


Legal Action Under Mining Laws

Officials confirmed that action in all cases is being taken under the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act. The administration has intensified patrolling and monitoring activities to prevent illegal excavation, transportation, and storage of minerals in the district.

Authorities reiterated that strict action will continue against violators to ensure lawful mining practices and protection of natural resources.
