District Collector Jitendra Yadav chaired a meeting of the District Road Safety Committee at the Collectorate Conference Hall to review measures aimed at preventing road accidents and strengthening road safety across the district.

During the meeting, the Collector emphasized the need for focused efforts to reduce road accident fatalities and directed officials to ensure adequate safety arrangements at accident-prone locations.

Safety Measures to Be Strengthened on Highways and Major Roads

The Collector instructed concerned departments to install speed breakers, signboards, reflectors, and high-mast lights at identified accident-prone stretches along national highways, state highways, and other major roads.

He stressed that road safety is not solely the responsibility of the administration and requires active participation from citizens as well. He called for extensive public awareness campaigns to encourage compliance with traffic regulations and promote responsible driving behavior.

Strict Monitoring of No-Parking Zones

Highlighting the risks posed by unauthorized roadside parking, Collector Jitendra Yadav directed officials to conduct regular inspections of vehicles parked in designated no-parking zones along national highways and other important roads in the district.

He instructed authorities to take stringent action against violators, noting that haphazard parking obstructs traffic flow and significantly increases the risk of accidents.
