With heavy rainfall continuing across the district, Rajnandgaon Collector Jitendra Yadav has directed all concerned officials to maintain continuous surveillance over flood-prone and waterlogged areas and ensure immediate action in the event of any emergency.

The Collector said that persistent rainfall has increased the possibility of waterlogging in low-lying areas and rising water levels along rivers and streams. He instructed officials to remain on high alert, conduct regular field inspections and closely monitor the evolving situation.

Mr. Yadav also appealed to residents to avoid unnecessary visits to rivers, streams and riverbank areas during periods of heavy rain and to strictly follow safety advisories issued by the administration.

As a precautionary measure against potential flooding, the district administration is conducting regular public announcements in riverside villages and vulnerable locations to create awareness and encourage residents to follow necessary safety measures.
