One Individual Booked Under Preventive Provisions to Maintain Law and Order

As part of an ongoing campaign to maintain law and order and curb anti-social activities in the district, Basantpur Police conducted action in the Jamatpara area following reports of suspicious activities and concerns over a possible breach of peace.
According to police sources, local residents had expressed anger and concern regarding alleged suspicious activities being conducted at a property dealer’s office located in Jamatpara. Information was also received that a large number of people had gathered at the location, raising concerns about public order.
Acting swiftly on the information, a team from Basantpur Police Station reached the spot and initiated an inquiry. During the investigation, police found a woman at the premises who reportedly stated that she had arrived there with Preman Kumar Jain, also known as Appu Jain, the operator of Kailash Lodge.

Police subsequently brought both individuals to the police station for questioning. According to officials, the individuals failed to provide satisfactory and clear explanations during the inquiry and allegedly attempted to mislead investigators.
The police further stated that while at the police station premises, both individuals engaged in disruptive behavior and created a disturbance. Considering the possibility of a breach of peace and in order to maintain public order, separate preventive actions were initiated against them under relevant legal provisions. They were later produced before the SDM Court in Rajnandgaon.
The operation was carried out under the guidance of Superintendent of Police Ankita Sharma and under the supervision of Additional Superintendent of Police Kirtan Rathore and City Superintendent of Police Vaishali Jain.
Police officials reiterated that strict and effective action will continue against individuals involved in activities that may disturb public peace or affect law and order in the district.
