DJ Systems, Fireworks, Dance Performances and Non-Traditional Activities to Remain Prohibited During Observance

Meeting Held to Ensure Peaceful Observance
With preparations underway for the upcoming Muharram festival, a meeting of representatives from the Muslim community was held at the Office of the Superintendent of Police to discuss arrangements for the peaceful and harmonious observance of the event.
During the meeting, police and administrative officials appealed to community members and organizing committees to maintain law and order and strictly follow the directions issued by the Chhattisgarh State Waqf Board.
Ban on DJs and Non-Traditional Activities
Officials clearly stated that the use of DJs, Dhumal groups, bands, musical performances, dance programs, and fireworks will be strictly prohibited during Muharram celebrations.
Authorities further informed participants that performances involving individuals dressed as lions or other characters, along with related dance displays, public performances, and other non-traditional activities, would also not be permitted.
Appeal for Discipline and Communal Harmony
Officials urged organizing committees and members of the community to celebrate the festival in an atmosphere of peace, discipline, and brotherhood.
They warned that strict action would be taken against anyone found violating the prescribed guidelines or disrupting public order.
Public Awareness Campaign Planned
During the meeting, it was decided that public announcements would be made throughout the city to inform residents about the restrictions and to discourage people from participating in lion-themed or other costume-based performances.
Authorities clarified that if any individual violates the instructions despite prior warnings and awareness efforts, responsibility for such actions would rest solely with the individual concerned and not with the community as a whole.
Administration Appeals for Public Cooperation
The district administration appealed to residents to help maintain social harmony during the festival, refrain from spreading or believing rumours, and immediately report any suspicious activities to the police.
Officials expressed confidence that with public cooperation and adherence to the guidelines, Muharram would be observed peacefully and respectfully across the district.
