Over 32,000 Metric Tons of Fertilizers and 10,000 Quintals of Seeds Already Distributed to Support Kharif Cultivation

In view of the ongoing Kharif season, farmers across Rajnandgaon district are actively engaged in sowing and transplantation activities. To support their agricultural needs, the district administration has ensured a robust supply chain of fertilizers and seeds. District Collector Dr. Sarveshwar Narendra Bhure has instructed officials to maintain continuous monitoring and ensure uninterrupted availability of inputs through cooperative societies.

According to Prabhat Mishra, CEO of the District Cooperative Central Bank Rajnandgaon, the district has stocked a total of 36,410.6 metric tons of chemical fertilizers, which accounts for 70.66% of the seasonal requirement. So far, 32,799.1 metric tons have already been distributed to farmers. The breakdown includes:
- Urea: 10,927.6 MT
- Super Phosphate: 5,762.9 MT
- DAP: 3,986.8 MT
- NPK: 9,196.9 MT
- Potash: 2,925.1 MT
A balance of 3,611.5 metric tons remains to be distributed, comprising 666.6 MT of Urea, 1,186.2 MT of Super Phosphate, 509.3 MT of DAP, 460.3 MT of NPK, and 789.1 MT of Potash.

In addition to fertilizers, 10,775.58 quintals of seeds have been stocked, of which 10,239.26 quintals have already been distributed. Specifically, 10,751.90 quintals of paddy seeds were stocked, and 10,223.60 quintals have reached the farmers. A remaining 528.30 quintals of paddy seeds are yet to be distributed.
Collector Dr. Bhure emphasized the importance of timely availability and has directed departments to maintain close coordination to ensure all cooperative societies are well-stocked, minimizing disruptions in the farming cycle. This effort aims to facilitate a successful Kharif harvest and strengthen the agricultural economy of the district.
