The National Cooperative Development Corporation held its 93rd General Council meeting in New Delhi under the chairmanship of Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah. Markfed Chairman Shashikant Dwivedi represented Chhattisgarh and highlighted progress in the cooperative sector and initiatives to strengthen farmers and rural cooperatives.

District Cooperative Central Bank Rajnandgaon held its 49th Annual General Meeting with representatives of 356 cooperative societies. Chairman Sachin Baghel launched the IMPS facility, enabling nearly 4 lakh customers to benefit from instant fund transfers and improved digital banking services.

Rajnandgaon Collector Jitendra Yadav has directed officials to ensure the timely distribution of fertilisers and seeds to farmers ahead of the Kharif season. The district currently has 41,509 metric tonnes of fertilisers and 6,036 quintals of seeds available, while enforcement teams continue action against black marketing, hoarding and other irregularities.

To ensure timely availability of fertilisers for the upcoming Kharif season 2026, the Rajnandgaon administration has initiated advance fertiliser lifting from February 1. Farmers lifting fertilisers in advance till May 31, 2026, will not be charged any interest by cooperative societies.

Rajnandgaon Collector Jitendra Yadav felicitated Rural Agriculture Extension Officers, Patwaris, society managers and data entry operators for their outstanding contribution to the paddy procurement process, praising their dedication and efficiency.

Collector Jitendra Yadav reviewed paddy procurement arrangements in Rajnandgaon, directing strict action against middlemen and ensuring priority purchase from small farmers along with smooth and transparent procurement operations.

The Rajnandgaon District Administration held a review and training meeting for paddy procurement under Kharif Marketing Season 2025-26, where Collector Jitendra Yadav mandated strict monitoring of illegal paddy trade, deployment of micro-observers at sensitive centres, and priority token issuance for small and marginal farmers.

The Chhattisgarh Government has launched the “Token Tumhar Haath” mobile app, enabling farmers to receive paddy procurement tokens directly on their phones with Aadhaar-based verification, ensuring transparency and convenience in the purchase process.

With Kharif sowing and transplantation underway, Rajnandgaon district has ensured adequate stock and timely distribution of fertilizers and seeds for farmers. As per officials, 36,410.6 metric tons of fertilizers and 10,775.58 quintals of seeds have been stocked, out of which 32,799.1 metric tons of fertilizers and 10,239.26 quintals of seeds have already been distributed through cooperative societies.
