Key decisions taken on Millet Café, cycle stand and canteen tenders, psychiatric ward upgrade, and procurement of essential equipment

Collector Jitendra Yadav on Monday chaired the meeting of the Jivandeep Committee Executive Body at the District Hospital, Rajnandgaon, and reviewed ongoing works and future requirements of the facility. He issued strict instructions to complete all renovation work at the District Hospital before January 1, emphasising that no delays would be tolerated.
During the meeting, the Collector directed officials to initiate tenders for the operation of the cycle stand and hospital canteen. He also instructed that a Millets Café, to be operated by a women’s self-help group, should be started within the hospital premises to promote healthy and nutritious food options for patients and visitors.
Highlighting the importance of patient welfare, the Collector said that the quality of food served in the hospital must be strictly maintained. He warned that any negligence in this regard would attract immediate action.

The committee also approved the purchase of auto-analysers for various diagnostic tests under the Hamara Lab initiative, along with essential consumable materials required for wards across the hospital.
A proposal presented by the hospital’s psychiatric specialist to start a five-bed psychiatric ward was discussed. The committee recommended upgrading the old male ortho ward for this purpose and asked for a detailed cost estimate to be prepared.
Other issues taken up during the meeting included the GEM portal procurement process, ongoing repair works, and recruitment against vacant posts in the hospital.
The meeting was attended by Municipal Commissioner Atul Vishwakarma, Deputy Collector Dr. Prakash Tandon, Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr. Netram Navratan, Hospital Superintendent Dr. U.K. Chandravanshi, and other executive members.
