The Chhattisgarh government has rolled out a major support initiative for farmers under the PM-AASHA (Pradhan Mantri Annadata Aay Sanrakshan Abhiyan), enabling procurement of pulses and oilseed crops at Minimum Support Price (MSP) through cooperative societies. The move is expected to boost income stability and encourage expansion of pulse and oilseed cultivation in the district.

According to the Agriculture Department, preparations are already underway to ensure smooth procurement during the upcoming Kharif and Rabi seasons. Farmers cultivating pulses and oilseeds will receive direct benefits under the Price Support Scheme (PSS) component of PM-AASHA.

Major Crops to Be Procured at MSP

Under the scheme, the following Kharif and Rabi crops will be procured at notified MSP rates:

Farmers are required to register on the Integrated Farmer Portal to be eligible. NAFED will access this data for procurement and payment processing.
Maximum procurement limits per acre have also been set by the government.

Government’s Efforts Welcomed by Farmers

Deputy Director Agriculture Tikam Singh Thakur said that MSP procurement for soybean, groundnut, urad and moong will begin on 1 December 2025, marking an important step in farmer welfare. He urged farmers to bring their produce in large numbers to the designated procurement centres.
