Jain monk Samayprabh Sagar Ji, a disciple of Khartargachchh Acharya Manibhadra Sagar Ji, emphasised the importance of gratitude, patience and selfless service during his Chaturmas discourse at the Gyan Vallabh Upashray Bhavan in Jain Bageecha, Rajnandgaon.
Addressing devotees, Samayprabh Ji said that people should never forget the kindness and support they receive from others. He urged everyone to remain grateful to those who help them and to reciprocate their kindness when the opportunity arises.
Gratitude Should Be an Integral Part of Life
During the discourse, Samayprabh Ji explained that when someone does something beneficial for us, we should always remember their contribution and maintain a sense of gratitude towards them.
He stressed that acknowledging another person’s help is an important virtue and that people should make sincere efforts to return the favour when circumstances permit.
The monk’s message encouraged devotees to value relationships built on kindness, mutual respect and a willingness to help others.
Avoid Haste and Unnecessary Self-Praise
Samayprabh Ji also cautioned against acting in haste, explaining that work done in a hurry often leads to mistakes. He advised people to approach their responsibilities with patience and careful consideration rather than allowing impatience to dictate their actions.

He further urged devotees to refrain from self-praise, emphasising the importance of humility in one’s conduct.
According to the monk, individuals should focus on their actions and values rather than seeking recognition or appreciation from others.
Good Conduct and Human Nature
Reflecting on human behaviour, Samayprabh Ji observed that individuals often remain attached to their inherent nature. He drew a comparison between saints, who continue their spiritual practices, and people with negative tendencies, who may also persist in their habitual behaviour.
He also noted that a person who has a generous and helpful nature tends to continue helping others.
Help Others Without Seeking Recognition
Highlighting the importance of compassion and service, Samayprabh Ji said that fellow members of the Jain community should be regarded as deserving of devotion and respect rather than pity.
He also encouraged people to help others without publicising their charitable acts. True service, he conveyed, should come from a sincere desire to support someone in need rather than from a wish to gain recognition.
The discourse formed part of the ongoing Chaturmas religious programme at Gyan Vallabh Upashray Bhavan. Media in-charge Vimal Hazra shared details of the programme.
