The Chhattisgarh government’s commitment to ensuring fair returns for farmers is yielding visible results. Under the Support Price Policy and Krushak Unnati Yojana, paddy is being procured at ₹3100 per quintal, enabling farmers to receive the real value of their produce and strengthening them financially. Farmers are also pleased with the provision to sell up to 21 quintals of paddy per acre and the improved facilities at procurement centres across the district.

At the Kanharpuri Paddy Procurement Centre in Rajnandgaon development block, farmer Bires Sinha from village Lakholi arrived to sell 120 quintals of paddy. He owns about 20 acres of agricultural land spread across Jungleasar, Kanharpuri and Khuteri villages, where he primarily grows paddy.

Expressing gratitude to the state government, he said that the support price and Krushak Unnati Yojana have ensured fair compensation for his produce, with payments being transferred promptly. This has helped him meet household needs and expand agricultural activities. This year, he plans to use the amount received from paddy sales to renovate his old house.

Last year, using the earnings from his paddy sale, he installed an underground pipeline in his fields to facilitate double cropping. This Rabi season, he has sown lentils (masoor). He added that the procurement centre offers excellent arrangements, including drinking water and shade. He also expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai.

Similarly, Tungan Lal Sahu, a farmer from Khaira village, came to the same procurement centre to sell 50.80 quintals of paddy. He said the government’s support price policy is steering farmers towards prosperity. Farmers are now able to meet personal needs as well as invest in their agricultural development.

He further shared that obtaining the online token through the Tunhar Hath App was extremely easy. The procurement centre has sufficient gunny bags, transparent electronic weighing, and timely bank transfers. All basic facilities for farmers have also been ensured at the centre. He thanked the state government for these convenient arrangements.
