In line with the guidelines of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, a district-wide awareness campaign was conducted today under the ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan’. In the main event held at the Collectorate meeting hall, Collector Mrs. Tulika Prajapati administered the pledge to all departmental officers to remain drug-free and to work towards building a drug-free society.

Addressing the officials, Collector Prajapati said that addiction not only harms an individual’s health but also obstructs the growth of families and society at large. “It is essential that every section of society becomes aware of the dangers of substance abuse,” she emphasized. The event was attended by CEO District Panchayat Mrs. Bharti Chandrakar, Additional Collector G.R. Markam, SDM Mohla Hemendra Bhuarya, SDM Manpur Amit Nath Yogi, Deputy Collector D.R. Dhruv, and other departmental officers.
Along with the district headquarters, officials and employees across all subdivision offices, health institutions and panchayat-level bodies also took the anti-drug pledge collectively. Several gram panchayats saw sarpanches and villagers gather to pledge to quit addictions and encourage others to do the same.

District-Wide Activities Organized
All development blocks in the district hosted special anti-addiction pledge ceremonies. Schools and colleges also witnessed enthusiastic participation from students. A series of activities — including rangoli competitions, poster-making, and essay writing on the theme of drug de-addiction — were held to spread awareness.
Students creatively highlighted the harmful effects of drug abuse, health risks, family tensions, financial losses, and its negative impact on society. These initiatives aimed to instill a positive mindset among the youth and encourage a commitment to a drug-free life.
