Several cities across Madhya Pradesh are experiencing a noticeable drop in temperature, prompting weather authorities to issue a cold wave alert for the next two days. The dip in temperatures is being attributed to icy winds flowing in from the northern regions, where recent snowfall has intensified the cooling effect across central India.

According to meteorological updates, cities including Bhopal, Indore, Gwalior, Ujjain, and surrounding districts may witness colder-than-usual mornings and evenings, along with an overall decline in day temperatures. These winds originating from the Himalayan belt typically travel southward during this season, influencing large parts of the central Indian plains.

Cold Wave Alert Issued Across Multiple Cities

Weather officials have advised residents to take necessary precautions, particularly during early morning and late night hours when the cold is likely to be more intense. People who commute on two-wheelers, outdoor workers, the elderly, and children have been specifically encouraged to use warm clothing to avoid health discomfort. Those suffering from respiratory issues have also been advised to avoid prolonged exposure to cold air.

Authorities in urban and semi-urban regions have also suggested maintaining heating arrangements in homes, especially for vulnerable individuals. In rural belts, community health workers have been asked to remain alert to health complaints associated with sudden weather change, particularly related to seasonal flu, cold, and joint pain.

Though cold wave conditions during late autumn and early winter are not uncommon for Madhya Pradesh, weather experts note that sudden shifts in temperature can cause discomfort, especially when residents have not yet fully transitioned into winter routines. The current cold spell is expected to continue as long as the northern cold air flow remains active.

Meanwhile, city administrations are monitoring public shelters and night shelters to ensure availability for those in need. Some civic bodies have indicated that if the cold conditions intensify further, additional facilities may be activated in the coming days.

Further weather developments will depend on atmospheric movement in the northern high-altitude regions. Authorities have stated that updated bulletins will be issued if conditions change or if the cold wave extends beyond the next two days.
