Allocation through lottery ensures transparency; vendors instructed to follow fire safety and government guidelines

Under the direction of Mayor Madhusudan Yadav and Municipal Commissioner Atul Vishwakarma, the Rajnandgaon Municipal Corporation conducted a transparent lottery process to allot 93 temporary plots for licensed firecracker vendors ahead of the Diwali season. The event, held at the Municipal Hall, resulted in total revenue generation of ₹4,29,660 for the civic body.
Municipal Revenue Officer Rajesh Tiwari informed that the department received 99 applications for temporary firecracker stalls this year, out of which 93 licensed vendors completed the required payment process. This year, the plot allotment fee was increased by 10%, setting the rate at ₹4,620 per shop. The firecracker market will be set up at the Municipal School Ground.

Mr. Tiwari emphasized that all vendors must strictly adhere to the government’s fire safety and operational guidelines during sales. He also directed them to ensure proper safety equipment and maintain discipline within the marketplace.
Present at the lottery event were Executive Engineer Deepak Khande, Revenue Sub-Inspector Ravindra Thakur, along with officials from the revenue department and participating vendors.
