Training Program for 70 Farmers, Including Women, Organized at Bhariṭola Village

Pandit Shivkumar Shastri Agricultural College promotes sustainable farming practices and women entrepreneurship under the “Farmer First” project

A one-day training program was conducted at Bhariṭola village, Mohla Manpur Chauki district, by Pandit Shivkumar Shastri Agricultural College and Research Center, aimed at enhancing the skills of local farmers and promoting sustainable agricultural practices. The initiative was organized under the “Farmer First” project, sponsored by the college and New Delhi, and led by Project In-Charge Dr. Vinamrata Jain.

A total of 70 farmers, including women, participated in the interactive session. Dr. Jain began the program by explaining the project framework and its various activities, encouraging women to adopt self-employment opportunities through entrepreneurship-based modules.

Key highlights of the training included:

  • Dr. Nitin Kumar Turre provided detailed guidance on controlling diseases in Kharif, Rabi crops, and vegetables at minimal cost. He also explained the use of biological pesticides such as Trichoderma and Pseudomonas for soil-borne pathogens.
  • Dr. Manoj Kumar Chandrakar addressed current pest-related issues in paddy crops and suggested effective solutions.
  • Dr. Shivaji Limje emphasized the importance of balanced fertilizer use in pest management and elaborated on how natural farming practices enhance soil health.

The program was successfully conducted under the supervision of Dr. Abhay Bisen, and the vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Harinarayan.

The training reinforced sustainable farming techniques, pest and disease management strategies, and women’s participation in agriculture-led entrepreneurship.
