Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh hoists the national flag, inspects parade; schools and security forces honored for outstanding performances

The district headquarters witnessed an atmosphere of unparalleled enthusiasm and patriotic fervor as the 79th Independence Day was celebrated with grandeur at the Shaurya Parade Ground, Police Training School, Rajnandgaon.

The district-level main ceremony was graced by Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh, who unfurled the tricolor and took the salute of an impressive march-past. Accompanied by Collector Dr. Sarveshwar Narendra Bhure, who read out the message of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, Dr. Singh released colorful balloons symbolizing joy and unity.

Following the flag hoisting, Dr. Singh inspected the parade and extended greetings to the people. He also honored officials and employees from various departments for exemplary service and felicitated the families of martyred soldiers with shawls and ceremonial coconuts.
The ceremonial parade, commanded by CSP Vaishali Jain with SI Rakesh Patel as Parade 2IC, featured 16 platoons including JD 27 Battalion ITBP, 8th Battalion CAF Rajnandgaon, District Police Force, PTS platoon, PATS Women Platoon, Home Guards Women Unit, NCC contingents from multiple schools and colleges, and Scout-Guide groups.

Schoolchildren from Padumlal Punnalal Bakhshi Swami Atmanand Government Excellent School, Eklavya Model Residential School Pendri, Gayatri Vidyapeeth, Yugantar Public School, PM Shri Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Dongargarh, and Swami Atmanand School Dongargaon presented mesmerizing patriotic dance and song performances.

Competition Results:
- Cultural Program: First prize – Padumlal Punnalal Bakhshi Swami Atmanand Govt. Excellent School (dance on Rind Posh Maal), Second – Eklavya Model Residential School (dance on Desh Ke Jawan Jage), Third – Yugantar Public School (dance on Badalta Bharat, Viksit Bharat).
- Arms Platoon: First – JD 27 Battalion ITBP, Second – PTS Men’s Platoon Rajnandgaon.
- Unarmed Platoon: First – NCC Girls Digvijay College, Second – NCC Girls Kamla College.
- Junior Boys: First – NCC Boys State High School, Second – NCC Naval Girls Dr. Baldev Prasad Mishra School, Basantpur.
- Junior Girls: First – NCC Girls State High School, Second – NCC Girls PM Shri Sarveshwardas Municipal School.

The event was attended by District Panchayat President Kiran Vaishnav, District Cooperative Bank President Sachin Baghel, Vice President District Panchayat Kiran Sahu, social workers, senior police and administrative officers, and a large number of citizens. The program was conducted by Kamal Kishore Shrivastava.
