Mohlā Marks Independence Day with Patriotic ‘Freedom Run’

Collector Tulika Prajapati urges citizens to share responsibility in nation-building; rally carries messages of unity, cleanliness, and sobriety

The district administration and the Department of Sports & Youth Welfare organised a spirited Freedom Run from Fawwara Chowk to the Mini Stadium today, filling the streets with patriotic chants and a call for national unity ahead of Independence Day celebrations.

The run began at Fawwara Chowk, passing through Atal Chowk and the bus stand, before culminating at the Mini Stadium, where a large gathering of officials, employees, and children participated with enthusiasm.

Addressing the crowd at the stadium, Collector Tulika Prajapati paid tribute to the freedom fighters whose sacrifices secured the nation’s independence. “It is because of their courage that our country is moving steadily on the path of development,” she said. Speaking directly to the youth, she emphasised that they are the strength of the nation and must focus on hard work, character-building, and civic responsibility. “Maintaining cleanliness around us and taking care of public property is also an act of patriotism,” she added, extending greetings on the completion of 25 years of Chhattisgarh’s statehood.

Superintendent of Police Yashpal Singh highlighted the supreme sacrifices of soldiers and called on citizens to contribute to nation-building. “Staying away from addictions is also a form of freedom,” he said, while sharing insights into the historical backdrop of India’s independence.

On the occasion, District Panchayat CEO Bharti Chandrakar administered an oath on water conservation and anti-drug commitment, urging participants to work towards preventing water scarcity, improving groundwater levels, and making the district free from substance abuse.
