BJP to launch booth-level ‘Tiranga Yatra’ across Rajnandgaon; district president accuses Congress of sidelining the national flag for decades

As part of its nationwide programme to ignite patriotism through the Tiranga Yatra, the Bharatiya Janata Party will be taking the campaign down to the booth level in Rajnandgaon district. The initiative aims to involve citizens across all 16 mandals, for which mandal-level and booth-level coordinators have already been appointed.
According to Tiranga Yatra district coordinator Moolchand Lodhi, planning meetings are currently being held across the district. Today, meetings of the East, West, and Rural Mandals were held at 12 noon, followed by meetings of the North and South Mandals at 2 pm at the district BJP office.
Addressing the gathering as the chief speaker, District BJP President Komal Singh Rajput launched a sharp attack on Congress, accusing it of a long history of disrespecting the national flag. “From the very beginning, Congress insulted the tricolour,” Rajput said, recalling how the Ashoka Chakra-bearing flag was remembered only on Independence Day and Republic Day.

He alleged that Congress created confusion by designing its party flag with three colours similar to the national flag, but with the hand symbol in the centre, while keeping the tricolour on the sidelines. “Congress feared that if citizens developed deep patriotism towards the national flag, they would become active in national service and politics. To keep people away from nationalism, Congress conspired against the tricolour,” he claimed.
Rajput further alleged that Congress compromised in states like Jammu & Kashmir, where the national flag was not hoisted for years, and ignored its display in tribal areas. “It was only after the Modi government came to power that the tricolour began receiving the respect it deserved, from Kashmir to Kanyakumari, with nationwide Tiranga Yatras,” he said.
He concluded by stating that after independence, Congress deliberately worked to ensure that citizens were neither vigilant about democracy nor awakened to national pride.
