District Holds 41,509 Metric Tonnes of Fertilisers and 6,036 Quintals of Seeds; Strict Action Continues Against Black Marketing and Hoarding

Collector Mr. Jitendra Yadav has directed officials to ensure the timely distribution of fertilisers and seeds to farmers in view of the upcoming Kharif season. He emphasized that farmers should not face any difficulties in obtaining agricultural inputs during the sowing period.
It is noteworthy that for the current Kharif season, efforts are being made to promote the use of alternative fertilisers, Nano Urea and Nano DAP along with conventional fertilisers for paddy, pulses and oilseed crops. Keeping this objective in view, a target of 68,690 metric tonnes of fertilisers has been set for cooperative societies and the private sector.
Fertiliser Availability 34 Percent Higher Than Last Year
The district currently has a total availability of 41,509 metric tonnes of fertilisers across cooperative and private sectors. This includes 17,153 metric tonnes of urea, 4,088 metric tonnes of DAP, 10,129 metric tonnes of NPK, 3,382 metric tonnes of MOP and 6,757 metric tonnes of Single Super Phosphate (SSP). The available stock is 34 percent higher compared to the same period last year.
Deputy Director Agriculture Mr. Tikam Singh Thakur stated that fertilisers are being continuously distributed to farmers through service cooperative societies. So far, 14,972 farmers have received fertilisers.
The distribution includes 7,193 metric tonnes of urea, 1,807 metric tonnes of DAP, 4,669 metric tonnes of NPK, 1,322 metric tonnes of MOP and 2,214 metric tonnes of Single Super Phosphate for the upcoming Kharif crops.
Adequate Stocks Available in Cooperative Societies
At present, cooperative societies have stocks of 4,568 metric tonnes of urea, 1,032 metric tonnes of DAP, 3,082 metric tonnes of NPK, 1,364 metric tonnes of MOP and 1,350 metric tonnes of Single Super Phosphate.
To ensure farmers receive quality seeds on time, a target of 13,980 quintals has been fixed. Against this target, 6,036 quintals of seeds are currently available with the Seed Corporation. Out of this, 3,201 quintals have already been stocked in cooperative societies and 1,085 quintals have been distributed to farmers.
Officials said storage is being carried out continuously based on the demand of cooperative societies through coordination with the District Marketing Officer and the District Cooperative Central Bank.
Distribution Being Carried Out as Per Government Guidelines
Farmers are receiving fertilisers through cooperative societies according to government guidelines, with distribution being carried out on the basis of 80 percent urea and 60 percent DAP allocation norms.
To prevent black marketing, smuggling, diversion, hoarding and other irregularities related to fertilisers, district and block-level flying squads have been constituted. These teams are continuously inspecting fertiliser sales centres across the district.

Strict Action Against Violators
During inspections, strict action has been taken against centres found violating regulations. So far, notices have been issued to 28 sales centres, while fertiliser stocks at seven centres have been seized and sealed. In addition, licences of five private fertiliser sales centres have been suspended.
The Agriculture Department stated that inspections of fertiliser outlets are being carried out on a continuous basis and strict action will continue against any centre found violating prescribed rules in the future.
